Under the Weather

I've been sick. I've gone no where but the backyard once, in a week.

It snowed that day though.

We suspect I have 'walking pneumonia'. My Doc is an Orthodox Jew, so he's MIA til Sunday. Wonderful! -_-

I'm going to resort to posting old pics soon.

La La La Musica

I wanted to badly soooooo play my digital piano today (apparently there's a big difference between a digi piano and a keyboard...who knew?)

I haven't played in weeeeeeeeks.

But during the holidays the power cord was misplaced, so I decided to take pictures instead.

I'm just learning the first 2.

But the last one has been my buddy forever =)

By the time the cord was found it was too late for my loud mouth singing on a weekday with neighbors so close by....oooh Ny sometimes you suck a bit.

Tomorrow though.

Loud as I want.

Cabin Fever

I gots it.

This weather. It's lucky it's so pretty or I'd hate it.

I've been trying to do some new-ish things and get back to some old-ish things I nearly forgot I enjoyed doing.

I burned some wood. A new-ish activity. I had tried last year but gave up quickly...it isn't nearly as easy as I thought it would be. You can sketch out what you want to burn to your heart's content but the wood grain dictates what you're *actually* going to do. *frustrating*

Then 'inspired' by these sheets of paper from an antique, French novel I have I decided to do some 'mixed media' work (the old-ish activity). Took a sentence from a page and off I went.

"The fleshy girls who treated life like a dance."

or something like that.

Hand colored a print I made of an antique ballerina photo.

The result:

Then I remembered why I stopped doing this. I suck at it. =)
My paper is forever wrinkly and I value simplicity in an art form that is all about abundance.

...I should stick to photography I think =)

Tiny Things

Thank God for macro. The weather here has been cold and junky and after being stuck upstate, inside for weeks, I came back to the city only to get stuck inside again.

Ho Hum.

It is challenging to find interesting things to photograph in only 650 sq ft, besides the cats.

Align CenterI just heard on the news we're going to have a "deep freeze".

I don't know what that is, but it doesn't sound conducive to going anywhere!
I'm attempting for the 3rd time, an "Alphabet Soup"(photos from A-Z) in my apartment. Maybe I'll finally get it done this time. =)
