Welcome

This is Lionel.

This fall I had a yard sale and Lionel's Father and very pregnant Mother stopped by. They had only been in NY a month or so. We invited them to sit and we became their first NY friends. I had Lionel's Mommy, Anna write their number on a slip of paper, which I ended up losing. But the thought of them and whether the baby had arrived occurred often.

Then today my doorbell rang.

The 2, now 3. =)

They were here 3 hours and the baby never cried or fussed. He is beautiful and with such an amazing temperment, we should all be so lucky.

Late Last Night...

...I played 'Tourist'.

It wasn't as crowded as it looks.

My first time at Rockerfeller Center since I was 10 or so.

8 seconds on a random street as a bus passed by.

The Museum of Natural History.

Sunday night at midnight the city is so quiet.

Sometimes, when someone has been raised here, you become immune to the sights some people will only ever see on TV or in movies, and you feel an urge to appreciate the city the way a visitor would.

Just because you have the luxury of doing so at whim.

My house is covered in glitter now

It's odd. This year, while putting Christmas novelties out...I realized I had actually accumulated a decent amount of stuff the past few years.

Some more of the oh-so
horrifying/wonderful: proof of adulthood.

Snippets of my favorite little things:

Pine Cone Lights.

Silver and Gold.

Vintage Elves.

Gift Box Lights.

Stained Glass Tree.

Jingle Bell Wreath.

Red Tinsel Tree.

And This Little Polar Bear.

I'm trying to keep the way the apartment normally looks intact. Incorporating holiday decorations, without displacing anything.

As boxing up the things that I love and live with all year round, would drive me crazy. =)
