So busy

Well honestly, I don't know if I'm busy or if it's just my brain that is.
Regardless, I am overwhelmed.

But sort of in a good way.

We went into Brooklyn last night.

I got screamed at by a cyclist for this shot.
Apparently being 4 inches into a 6 foot wide bike lane is grounds for rage.

Who knew?!

*Btw my pageload/stat logger effed up.
Now I can't counter-stalk the person who blog-stalks me.
Lame.

Edit: i've decided i like this one better.

Edit edit: so this looks insanely bright on my laptop monitor but not on my desktop. the 1st one looks perfect here but people say it's too dark. so dont judge me. i dont know whose monitors are accurate. *angry noises*

I'm not very good at this

Older attempts:

Birdbath

Horse.

That weird place we always end up, in VA

The house.

Tonight in Long Island City:

I heart NY

Boat on the river.

I typed out what each is, because I think maybe the only reason I can tell what they are, is because I did them. Oh sweet insecurity.

Sooooo...

My LEDs are eh. My skills are eh. +This is harder than it looks.

Tonight was an hour and a half of work, 27 images, & only 2 that weren't God awful.

In over a year of doing these, this post contains the best I've produced.

*shame*

Heading upstate tomorrow.

This is

Every picture Tom takes of me (when I let him hold the camera).

*scroll past this nonsense for actual photos*

I just thought I'd share his brilliant talent, if only to make you appreciate my photos a touch more in contrast.

"Hey Meg, compared to that guy who sucks, you're AMAZING!".

Oh I know I'm amazing...compared to that guy who sucks.

And now we can all mock me for being nearly the same shade of white as my dress.

Let's all do that.

Or not.

(I don't even know who "we" is...)

Anywhooooo...

Here is Chinese Virgin Mary and Chinese Baby Jesus
(as seen in Chinatown.)

Click to enlarge or reawaken the dead igniting a zombie world war of sorts.

Poor baby Jesus and his mitten shaped hand. Bet he got a lot of flack for that.

Later...

We went to Washington Square Park. (which despite the appearance of the photos, was paaaaaaaaacked)

And while we sat on the new benches, listened to a group of street musician's play "On Broadway", and watched a guy ride a unicycle with a tourist on his shoulders,

I looked at Tom and said:

"We're really lucky we live here."

Today While Leaving

Color Me Mine in Manhattan, Thomas spazzed and took us into Brooklyn.

We do not live in Brooklyn.

But while heading home on the Brooklyn Queens Expressway, I saw the tip of the top of a ferris wheel.

Me: OH MY GOD A CARNIVAL!

(I am easily excited and a loud mouth.)

It's been done a million times before:

but not by me.

Click to enlarge or risk ring worm infection. FACT.

Today was lovely.

I haven't been to a carnival in forever.

My feet hurt.

But it's always nice to finally take pictures you've intended to for forever.

I almost got arrested for these pictures...

...Not really but I did get asked to leave by some law enforcement-type entity for having a tripod in a nontripod environment...or something like that.

All I know is a mean man in a hat scolded me.

Late Last Night...

...I played 'Tourist'.

It wasn't as crowded as it looks.

My first time at Rockerfeller Center since I was 10 or so.

8 seconds on a random street as a bus passed by.

The Museum of Natural History.

Sunday night at midnight the city is so quiet.

Sometimes, when someone has been raised here, you become immune to the sights some people will only ever see on TV or in movies, and you feel an urge to appreciate the city the way a visitor would.

Just because you have the luxury of doing so at whim.

Yawn

So I have nothing oh-so-earth shattering to say...or any new idea to show off...as my brain is t i r e d.

But I will just roll with my previous post and post a few pics of Ny's lights at night and the various ways I've shot them =)

Click to magnify.

Five second exposure from the windshield of a moving car on the West Side Highway.

30 seconds at Long Island City's piers

uuum I don't remember how long....in Times Square.

I really really <3 it here.
